2010

It's 6 months into 2010 and this is the first post of the year. I've not been giving this blog attention for so long. I guess I'm just too tired to pen my thoughts.

My last post spoke about some restructuring. I am already in a new team within the same department, with a new manager and new colleagues in a very fresh and young team. Nothing is stable, everything's a new process and things are ever-changing. It's challenging in various aspects but one thing that hasn't changed is being underpaid and overworked.

Anyhow, I got back from Hong Kong / Macau / Zhu Hai trip a week ago. It was supposed to be a Bangkok trip which I had postponed once and eventually decided to change destination due to the political situation there. Really upsetting because Jeryd and I had planned to tailor suits, vests and shirts for our wedding photoshoot in Taiwan in July. And my wardrobe really needs a change for work. But the trip to the Chinese lands was a great break away from work. Shopping wasn't that great but the food was incredible. On our last day in Macau we had 7 meals. Very enjoyable except the fact that our legs hurt everyday from all the walking.

Can't wait for our next trip which is less than a month away. Looking forward to the photoshoot which I've still not worked out or lost weight for.

Our block is now 15 stories. Our unit is going to be built soon and we can't wait for next year to come. =)

May the rest of 2010 be good.

Step 3 - to be actioned

Steps taken in chronological order (not exactly the right order):

1. Home

2. Diamond ring

3. Overseas pre-wedding photo shoot

More huge & big-$$ decisions to be made.. I'm enjoying the process =)

Leaving on a jet(star) plane

I'm flying off for a 9 day holiday tomorrow.. and of all times, I am starting to fall sick. I can feel it. The throat is hurting a little. The nose is acting up and giving me a headache. Sigh.

Thanks for playing mahjong with me again!! Appreciate you all helping me clock mj hours before my trip at the expense of sleep...

Also, just a reminder not to email my work mail cuz my inbox is reaching its capacity and i cannot afford to not receive work emails. So leave me out of all the forwarded emails until 2 weeks later.

Met my JC classmates last night and it was so nice catching up. Thanks for organising, Felix & Cindy!

Over the weekend...

... I turned 24 and we became a year old.

Had gatherings and catch-ups and birthday celebrations last week, had anniversary celebration and did something permanent over the weekend. Eventful week I've had, and now I'm left with one week to enjoy before going back to work.

Thank you all for the birthday greetings, for organising dinners, for the surprises, for the presents, and for the well-wishes. =)

Thank you for the bouquet, the "bliss", the lovely picnic and dinner, and for being my pillar of support.

Gougou meets Fron

Can't get a decent photo of Fron & Gougou cuz Fron couldn't stop going for Gougou's ass.

The outing has proven that Fron is desperate and gay, while Gougou is totally straight.

And we'll linger on.. time cannot erase a feeling this strong

Visited Lena last weekend. Updated her on my life. Hope she can see us all from the heavens and that she's doing fine there. =)

Been working at CS's office in Changi for the past week. Will be there for another week at least. Due to the lack of seats for the 5 contractors I'm in charge of cuz I'm overseeing this backlog project, I have to be separated from my team and be with the 5 newbies. Being in Changi is not a terrible thing. The lack of decent food is. Can't wait for the re-stack in ORQ so I can move back and bring the 5 together to be with my teammates so as to relieve some burden. I'm experiencing a whole new level of work stress. Training and taking care of 5 all by myself is not a joke. But I'm handling it the best I can.

Been working an average of 11 hours a day for the past week, I really wanted to make full use of my weekend.

Went to Wala's for the first time after work on Friday. EIC performed and they were good. The nerdy-looking guitarist had my attention cuz of his cute behaviour and his pimply face. Not to mention there were the gays and this super weird girl who were pretty entertaining and possessed respectively.

Watched Jeryd play soccer on saturday morning and bumped into Bernard Feng (Bernie, from blk E, rem?). Watched Singapore vs Saudi Arabia in the evening. My first visit to the national stadium, and it may very well be my last time too. It was funny, listening to the comments the spectators around us were making. It's kind of awkward, watching a match when I'm not a supporter of either teams, but being Singaporean, I wore red. It felt more right when I wore orange to watch Sheares matches. It was fun nonetheless, hearing people shout butoh.

The incredible hulk was so-so.

Sleep was awesome.

And my weekend is over. Till the next one...

David Cook's always be my baby has been in my head since friday night after I heard it on radio in the office just before I left for wala wala. Coincidentally, EIC performed it, and it just kept playing over and over again in my mind. Now it's on repeat on iTunes.

Colbie Caillat showcase @ Movida

So I went to Colbie Caillat's showcase last week with Mr J. Thanks again de!

Like he said, listening to her album sounds like listening to a very long song that last for an hour.

It was still fun. The "drummer", tamborine-r guy, is cute.

So here are 2 of the 3 videos I took. Her more popular singles that have been playing on air. Enjoy =)

Presents!

Look at Gougou's sianz face. He stood under the tree the entire night guarding the few presents. Nah he didn't la. The number of presents grew! =) And the tree has a golden star now.
19 gifts. And counting?
I've never really liked christmas, maybe just the christmas spirit. But the whole christmas tree bet changed everything. Thanks dear, for bringing the christmas spirit to my entire family. =)

Fashion Bar / Hot Stone

He brought me to Fashion Bar at the Grand Cannery last weekend. I have to mention that the free drinks were pretty lethal. =P Anyway, they had a jubilee thingy going on at the Grand Cannery. So there were 2 games stall where you get to play for free! He won me a brown teddy bear with his marksmanship =) Best part of the night had to be the dinner. Hot Stone. The buffalo wings were good! The steak was HEAVENLY. Best steak I've ever had. Really. They served the beef raw on a hot stone grill, and you flip and grill it and omg I can almost smell the smell of the beef now. Don't think I'll be interested to eat at Outback anymore.
=)

Impossible is nothing

It was impossible to sieve through thousands of thumbnail photos to get this. But Jeremy did. We still can't find the other one which we took outside the Esplanade. Impossible. And I do not have a finishing photo. Dammit.
Wonder if we'll do it again next year.

Our Christmas Tree

I won a christmas tree from a bet. =) So we went tree shopping on Saturday, visited 2 Ikeas in a day, walked from Suntec to marina Sq and back, and we finally got everything we needed for the tree. Now my living room is brightened up by the beautiful 1.8m, nicely decorated christmas tree courtesy of the bf.

Notice that there's no star/angel at the top of the tree? We still haven't found the perfect one to put it up. =) and er, no presents at the bottom of the tree. yet. =P

Lars & the real girl

Ryan Gosling was skinny in United States of Leland & the Notebook. He was more well-built in Fracture. And he surely is fat in Lars & the Real Girl. It's funny at parts, but I find it to be just an average movie. 3/5 coco crunches?

Below, the view from window near my desk. Pretty nice huh =) Not much compared to the previous sea-view I get, but it's still good. Anyway, tt's so much more interesting to walk in Citilink as compared to the underpass at Raffles Place. There's so much more to see. The crowd is different, there're stores to window-shop while walking to the office every morning. Not to mention there's always gigantic posters of CK underwear models to look at, and Daniel Wu with whatever watch he's endorsing. I'm loving ORL. Don't really have time to shop around the area during lunchtime yet, cuz we're all occupied with work to feel slack even at lunch.

I got a balloon today. It wasn't a special day or anything, which made the gesture even sweeter cuz it's so... out of the blue. =)

Thank you.

=)

Hunting and Gathering, starring Audrey Tautou, is a really heartwarming and slightly romantic movie. All her movies are romantic anyway. I'll give it 4.5 out of 5 coco crunches. Oh, and the lead looks like McDreamy.

It's 4512221x better than Superbad.

Had a good Sunday. Ate popcorn out of a transparent plastic bag. Felt the hot sun on my skin and cool wind on my face.

My break has just begun =)

Rain

You know how I don't like the rain, cuz it makes everything so gloomy and all the colours so dull. I realise gougou doesn't fancy the rain either, especially when it comes with lightning and thunder.

There was a storm last night. I was dreaming I was going up the escalator and I felt someone tapped me on my back. I woke up and realise the gougou was beside me. Haha. It happened the other night when it rained too. He just wanted to snuggle you know, being scared of the thunder and all.

So adorable right.

Except that gougou's breath stinks. And it was impossible to hug him to sleep cuz he was facing me and I couldn't make him turn the other way. Time to get those dog biscuits that make bad breath go away.

---------

Over the 5 days of absolute nua-ing, I managed to shrink my stomach-capacity with a smaller appetite as proven by the little amount of sushi I've eaten at Sakae. Thanks Ling'er, for the really nice keychain! I've got my own star at the Hollywood walk of fame =)

Actually, I've accomplished nothing. Didn't put the jogging plan into action. =/ Ok, I shall do something about that this week, if I don't get home too late from work.

Photos of Yizi & Bernard's engagement to be uploaded once I get them from Cindy and Twinsies.

Sigh. Break's over. Fun's over. It's time for battle with the 2 computer screens.

Can't wait for next week. And pay day. Lol.
