back to civilization. was away from the world at the Labrador Adventure Centre (where the old Pasir Panjang Secondary School was. it's quite near NUS.) with slightly over 300 secondary 2 students from Bowen Secondary. i was in charge of 19 kids and they really tire me out. the girls were a wonderful bunch of obedient campers. the boys were just problematic. one fell sick on the first day. the rest were very difficult to control. instructions weren't taken seriously. a couple of them had attitude problem. i scolded 4 boys on the second day in front of 40 kids for being anal. instructions were to return their eating utensils and meet the rest of the group near the field. when everyone else turned up to assemble, the "fantastic 4" were lazing in their bunk. they took their own sweet time and i had to ask a boy to get them out to assemble. fucking pissed. i really have nothing to say about these boys but they are just plain useless. during navigation games, the girls were the ones doing the topography work. the boys didn't give a heck. what's wrong with 14 year old boys? they couldn't wait to go home. i can't wait for them to enter army.
makes me wonder a lot about my own 14 year old brother.
anyway, belayed for the first time. and it was freaking tiring. my hands hurt from handling the rope. but i think the kids enjoyed themselves. so yar, it was worth it.

so London gets to host the Olympics in 2012.
happiness and joy don't last.
i came home to be updated about news like that. civilization isn't that civilized after all.
peace on earth.
